'All Saints' is a medieval building almost unaltered since it was built in the early 14th century. Its tranquil location in the isolated village of Besthorpe is due mainly to the black death which devastated the area about the time of it's construction. The village was later rebuilt about a mile away to the north. With flowing tracery in the windows, a triple sedalia and piscina in the chancel and an impressive alabaster monument to Sir William Drury (1639), the interior of this gem of a church is a delight. There are extraordinarly lavish niches in the south transept and a restored window (1990) given in memory of Sidney Harbour, a former Churchwarden and his wife Margery containing some panels of medieval stained glass. The Church is normally locked but a key may be obtained from The Old Vicarage just across the way, or from church officers.
